Instructions

    Prepare Your Ingredients

    • Dice Tofu into medium size cubes.
    • Fine chop chives.
  • 2

    Marinate Tofu

    • Place the tofu cubes in a bowl or shallow dish.
    • Add 1/3rd Soy sauce and 1/3rd Apple Cider vinegar , mix well and rest for 5-7 mins.
    • Drain the tofu and keep aside. Discard the marinade.
    • Coat tofu with cornstarch (keep 1 tbsp for sauce) and set aside .

    Cook Rice

    • Cook rice as usual.

    Cook Tofu cubes

    • Heat olive oil in a pan.
    • Add Tofu cubes and cook tofu until all sides are golden brown.
    • Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.

    Prepare sauce mix

    • In a mixing bowl , add remaining soy sauce , apple cider vinegar , water , sugar , cornstarch and chilli flakes.
    • Mix well until lumps are removed and sugar is dissolved .

    Bring it together

    • Add the garlic to the skillet (add more oil if needed) and cook over medium-high heat for about 1-2 minutes,stirring frequently until golden brown.
    • Add sauce mix to the skillet and cook over medium-high heat until it thickens , stir frequently.
    • Add tofu cubes, stir and cook for 1-2 more minutes.

    Serve hot!

    • Serve on top rice and garnish with sesame and chives . Enjoy.
