Nourishing rice bowl made with crispy pan fried tofu and broccoli coated in a sticky, sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce over a bed of steamed rice.

You Will Need

- Cooking Oil (15-20 ml)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper Powder (to taste)
- Mixing bowl
- Non-Stick Pan
Prepare the ingredients
- Slice the tofu into 1/2″ fingers and chop the broccoli into florets.
- Prepare the white rice as per your liking.
Fry the tofu and broccoli
- Coat the tofu in the desired quantity of salt and pepper.
- Add 3 tsp oil to a frying pan on medium heat, once hot, add the tofu to it. Let it get lightly golden brown and crisp on all sides while flipping it every 1 minute. It should take 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the tofu from the pan, and add 1 tsp oil followed by the broccoli florets. Stir fry for a minute or two, then add 1/2 tsp salt.
- Add a splash of water and cover the pan to cook the broccoli. Set the cooked tofu and broccoli aside.
Prepare the sauce
- In a mixing bowl, add the soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, honey, ginger & garlic paste, cornstarch and 25 grams of water. Whisk well until combined.
- Add 1 tsp of oil to the frying pan on medium-low heat, and add the sauce to it. Continue whisking until it thickens.
Bring it together
- Once the teriyaki sauce is thickened, add the cooked tofu and broccoli and stir until the vegetables are covered in the sauce.
- Serve the teriyaki tofu and broccoli over a bed of the cooked white rice.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot!
